Some of the fresh fruit was AMAZING. The rasberries and plutots esp. However, the prepared food was total crap. Every single part of the post-ride meal was basically awful. The Polenta was edible, but certainly not anything to write home about. Weekends are hard for farmers as most of them have farmer's markets to attend to. The scale of the ride would also make it impossible for everyone to get a tour. Need plain hand-sanitizer offered at every opportunity---especially near the porta-potties AND at the food stations. Very unsanitary for riders to be putting their hands in the food like that. It should be served to cyclists BY the volunteers, or have a way to self-serve with a utensil. This is standard, enforced practice at other rides like AIDS Lifecycle, etc. Remember where those hands have been. On handlebars, on sweaty foreheads, on greasy chains on bike, and in the porta-potty toilet!
